Nagpur: The bail application of Pallavi Joshi, Shreesurya group director and co-accused in the scam, was rejected by Nagpur District and Session Court on Friday. The bail plea was dismissed by Special judge CS Tarare after the prosecution as well as counsels for the investors persistently conflicted it by challenging that investigations into the scam have not reached even midway and that there is likelihood that the evidence might be tampered by her and her husband and group chairman Sameer. Also given the fact that most of the assets acquired by the couple are in her name and she only owns the jewelry, which were purchased from the investors’ money. There is every possibility that the couple might sell those ornaments.
Her role as a group director of Shreesurya Dream Destinations Private Limited is under suspicion and EOW is looking for evidence as to where she had hidden the money collected from the investors as she has supposedly collected massive sum of amount from the investors personally.
Till now 387 complaints have been registered against the accused couple and the amount of money purportedly cheated is as high as 33 crore. For the meantime, the EOW has found details of more than 5,000 investors who have invested almost 239 crore.
Pallavi Joshi surrendered to police on October 24. Meanwhile her counsel Chandrashekhar Jaltare requested the court that two daughters are suffering due to her absence and the younger one requires psychiatric assistance as she was constantly asking for her mother.
