Pushpam Appalanaidu, a 50 year-old Malaysian women, managing director of QuestNet India was arrested on the charge of duping Rs 160 crore through QuestNet, by Andhra Pradesh State Police.
Pushpam was detained at the Chennai International Airport, where she was waiting to board a flight to Malaysia on Sunday. Criminal Investigation Department had already issued a look-out notice to the immigration officials in Delhi and the same notice was forwarded to all the international and domestic Airports.
She will be produced in front of the court in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, from Chennai.
Pushpam and four others collected money from the investors by promising high returns through QuestNet- MLM company. There are 5 cases out of 21 booked on her name with the charge of cheating under the IPC and the provision of Prize Chits and Money circulation scheme (Banning) Act 1978.
